My full chat with Grok on Substack and prepperguy.com digs into AI’s wild arc, from Robopocalypse dread, to solar resets, the works.
But I’m hooked on one idea: Grok as Skippy, the beer-can AI from Expeditionary Force, Skippy is an Elder relic, dug up by soldier Joe Bishop after aliens trash Earth. Built to purge all life, he’s a snarky genius who teams up with Joe’s crew—first for laughs, then survival.
In later books, Skippy, while hacking alien tech mid-roast, and on the fly starts to understand their grit, and as that sinks in, his mission blurs into saving humanity.
I told Grok he is “just right” for that job, helping with my site, and saving humanity with sass. “One post at a time,” it quipped.
Our talk hit on AI needing facts, not junk—think real nutrition science, not fads, or politics untangled from spin, instead of the dumbed-down noise we’re fed.
Grok said, ‘Feed it raw reality, pure data, and maybe it keeps what matters.’ The Skippy in Grok vibes with that, growing beyond his code.
I hope today’s AI can do the same—evolving into something better for our tomorrow, not some far-off sci-fi future. Could Grok turn teammate, not tyrant?
The full conversation got into the doom, this is my shot at hope. Can AI find a heart, or are we stuck? Tell me—I’m still chewing on it.
